La  Disciplina’s Church

“La Disciplina”’s church is situated on the left at the end of “Corso Vittorio Emanuele”.

It was built in the 15th century and the function of this church  was to offer spiritual and material asylum to travellers and pilgrims that went from Verona to Mantua.

It was probably restructured in the first years of the 18th century.

Its façade is imposing and perhaps a bit out of proportion if compared to the unpretentious dimensions of the interior of the church.

On the façade you can see a large portal, two columns and four statues. In a niche with a baroque frame we can admire a fresco of a “Christ” by an unknown author.

St. Rocco’s Church

St. Rocco’s Church is situated at the beginning of “Corso Vittorio Emanuele”.

The church was built in the 15th century.

On the façade, between the central door and two false columns, there are two of the most important works of this church: on the left there is the “Crucifixion” and on the right there is “The Madonna on the Throne”.

In the interior of the church, on the only altar, there is a nice canvas painted in the 16th century depicting St. Rocco and St. Sebastian.

In the last few years there were some slight repairs.
