Giuseppe Rensi

Villafranca gave birth to a famous philosopher, Giuseppe Rensi.

He was born in 1871 and died in Genoa in 1941.

He wrote many philosophical works, such as “The Philosophy of Absurd”, “The Philosophy of Authority” and “Plato’s Moral”.

He also worked as a teacher at the universities of Messina and Genoa.

Maria Nadia Righetti in her degree dissertation about this philosopher writes: “...... Rensi was inspired by Hegelism and this caused his later scepticism....” 

Carlo Anti

Another famous person that was born in Villafranca was Carlo Anti. He was born in 1889 and died in 1961. He was an archaeologist and was an official in the Great War in 1922. He became a professor at the university of Padua. From 1932 to 1943 he was Rector at the same unversity.
