Between 1500 and 1600 Nicolaus Copernicus created a new model of the Solar System in which the Sun was at the centre. However this new and advanced view still took into accounts two elements of Pythagoreanism and Platonism: the central role of the Sun and the circular (and thus perfect) form of the orbits.
