PILLARS
Luther built his religious preaching on three Pillars: faith, the scriptures and grace.

Faith was considered as trust in God, an inner feeling, which devalued good deeds because they had become useless to obtain God's grace. It also devalued traditions.

Luther valued only the individual's faith and not what the theological confession transmitted.

The Bible was considered the only true document of Christian Faith, so Luther himself translated it into german to allow everyone to interpret it directly. In this way the autority of the clergy came to an end and a lot of interpretations and religious movements were born.

Because of this the clergy lost its mediator's position between God and the believers (common priesthood), clergy was abolished and their proprities sold.

The lutheran cathechism represented a democratic approach to religion because the Bible's translation allowed a wide discussion.

About the Salvation it couldn't be obtain by the individual with his merits but only through God's grace.
