PREDESTINATION

Protestant belief highlights the fact that there is no man 's co-operation in the issue of Salvation and that faith is purely a work of the Holy Ghost .

To express god's free and unconditional act we refer to the doctrine of Predestination .

According to Predestination god's work of Salvation is totally free and unbound from man's actions .

Calvin said "Predestination is God's eternal decree , he established ever since the beginning what he wanted to do of a man . In fact God doesn't create everybody in the same conditions but he orders one to eternal life , the other to eternal damnation.

So on the basis of the purpose man is created for , we say that he is predestined to life or death.

Calvin believed in the double Predestination : of elect and of damned people on the basis of a decision taken by God .

That conclusion seemed to him unavoidable on the basis of the consideration that when the New Testament is spread some accept it , some don't.

Calvin also says that God isn't subject to any rule ; so God must be free to choose whom he whants , otherwise the rule would be superior to God .
